The board approved a $7,838 budget amendment to purchase meters and tap materials needed for active construction and to replace broken meters. Finance Director Connie Lassiter and Public Works Director Wesley Blount told commissioners some customers' damaged meters and upcoming construction will require meters before July 1.
Blount noted the town’s $1 monthly equipment fee will need review because it does not cover replacement costs; staff said related water-fund fees and policies will return to the board in January or February for formal consideration.
