The council approved two related fleet actions at the Aug. 13 meeting. Councilor Charlene Louk moved and Councilor Karen Phillips seconded a motion to purchase a 2024 Ford Super Duty F-350 for the Public Works department using Sales & Use tax funding; the motion carried unanimously. Council also approved paying off the remaining balance on the 2015 Nutter Fort EMS ambulance with Sales & Use tax funds; that motion also passed unanimously.
Public Works staff said the truck transferred to EMS created a need to replace the PW vehicle. The town’s current fleet inventory includes multiple tool trucks, dump trucks with plow capability, a summer truck and plow trucks; two vehicles are approaching 10–12 years of service. Council noted two vehicles will be replaced with grant funding within the next year and other replacements are not expected until 2029.
