Mrs. Liz Eiss told the Board the World Language Department is expanding offerings and resources to support student language acquisition, citing the inaugural Heritage Spanish class and a French trip planned for Summer 2026 to Montreal/Quebec. She also noted a new Spanish teacher hire for 2026–27, Caridad Salinas, and invited continued Board support for department resources.
Eiss listed instructional subscriptions approved or in use: "El Mundo en Tus Manos," Scholastic magazines/readers, Conjuguemos, EdPuzzle, the Language Lab (used for speaking/listening and ACCESS testing), and a new Garbanzo subscription. The Board later approved the Garbanzo LLC software license for 2026–2027 in the amount of $3,992.00 during the consent agenda.
