Commission reviews upcoming exam schedule and receives two communications

The commission reviewed upcoming exam dates for deputy sheriffs, administrative assistants, public health educator and detective positions and noted communications from Weedsport Central School and IM 03-26.
At the April 14 meeting the commission reviewed the upcoming examination schedule: on April 18, 2026 exams include Deputy Sheriff Lieutenant (Custody) 71834-010 and Deputy Sheriff Captain (Custody) 71740-010 plus Administrative Assistant and Senior Typist exams; on May 9, 2026 exams include Deputy Sheriff (Road Patrol) 60059-460 and Senior Public Health Educator exams; and on June 13, 2026 a Detective exam (70029-610) is scheduled.
Commissioners also recorded two communications: a notification from Weedsport Central School that a promotion period ended early, and IM 03-26 — an amendment to CSL 61 clarifying that appointment and promotion letter rules do not apply to local civil service agencies. The minutes show these were received as communications with no further action taken at the meeting.
