Denise Spingler, supervisor for Cayuga County 911, told the Judicial & Public Safety Committee on April 8 that the center has two trainees in call taking and two trainees in dispatching and intends to hire for two additional vacancies in May. She said PSAP standards variance approvals remain pending and vendor work to address antenna issues is scheduled in the coming weeks.
Spingler also reported a UPS issue at the primary Emergency Communications System site that is being resolved and said the county’s backup center has no new updates. The committee did not take separate action on the operational items; they were recorded as updates for committee oversight.
