The council unanimously approved a special-event permit for the Rangeley Area Chamber’s Roar festival set for May 7–8, 2026, at the Rangeley Automotive Museum and downtown Main Street. Emma, representing the chamber, described a multi-day schedule of show‑and‑shine, guided OHV rides, a new Rock Park timed obstacle course and vendor programming.
Emma said organizers will close Staniland Street for a show‑and‑shine and use the Auto Museum parking lot for vendors; organizers will staff fenced alcohol service areas and wristband attendees. She said the chamber had coordinated permitting with the BLM for Rock Park activities and with local partners for safety and crowd management.
Trustees asked about staffing, fencing and prior on‑site alcohol monitoring; staff and the chamber said Powell Liquor Company previously provided successful licensed service at similar events and that they will emulate that model for wristbanding and perimeter control. Council members approved the permit after confirming event logistics.
