She said funding for the fuel‑system upgrade is contingent on participation by North Dakota Aeronautics (the airport hopes for a 50/50 split) and that the authority has designated $350,000 from savings toward the project while aeronautics determinations are expected early in 2027.
The airport director described operational benefits including reduced call‑outs for staff, improved spill prevention and compliance, and capacity to buy fuel at lower‑cost times. The commission voted to approve the Mandan Airport Authority 2027 budget as recommended by the authority.
