Village Board OKs Black Earth Field Days permits including street closure and fireworks

The Village Board approved three BEvents permit applications for Black Earth Field Days: a street closure for Park St. (Mills to Center) from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, through midnight on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026; a fireworks-display permit; and an amplified-devices permit. Dylan Helmenstine moved approval of the applications and Sydney Haase seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The board did not record additional conditions or public-safety mitigation steps in the meeting minutes. The Village’s event permit approvals allow organizers to proceed with event planning subject to any permitting conditions that staff or public-safety officials subsequently impose.
