Davis said the first phase would include the foundation and building shell and that the project would be funded from the Historical Museum Improvement Fund and the Historical Collection Fund. The commission approved the request 3-0.
Davis presented the project scope and explained financing sources that the museum plans to use. With authorization to solicit bids, the museum may proceed to solicit construction bids and return to the commission for contract awards and any required budget adjustments.
