Staff presented a revised job description (last updated in May 2024) that broadens the position to oversee community center and recreation employees and adds responsibility for managing the department’s online software system so future organizational changes (for example involving the aquatic center) would not require repeated job-description updates. The administration said it would publish the posting as early as the next day and run the initial posting for about two weeks, extending the period if the applicant pool is insufficient.
Council members expressed general support for the updated description and the flexibility it provides; the motion to proceed with advertising and hiring was approved.
