Patrick Smith, Risk Manager at KCAMP, presented the commission with a $3,000 check, noting Ottawa County earned a low loss ratio award and a risk-avoidance grant.
Smith said the check included $1,000 for one of the lowest loss ratios and $2,000 for completing the risk avoidance grant, and he told commissioners that "13 counties in Kansas are receiving" the low-loss-ratio check. KCAMP provides property and liability insurance for counties; Smith said he believes Ottawa County will be eligible for another risk-management award in the future. Commissioners accepted the presentation and the award.
