Allen County Highway Director Bill Hartman presented a bid award recommendation for sidewalks on Woodburn and Webster Roads (AC#2400225) and said three bids were received. He described the lowest responsive bid from Malott Contracting Inc. as about "$73,000 under the engineer’s estimate," and the project was described as providing sidewalks for East Allen County Schools students traveling from north and west of Woodlan Jr/Sr High School.
Commissioner Ronald W. Turpin moved approval, Therese M. Brown seconded, and the motion passed 3-0. The highway director and commissioners recorded the bid amount ($218,510.42) and the intended pedestrian-safety purpose in the minutes for procurement and construction planning.
