Steuben County's Community Services staff told the finance committee it would contract with Goodwill of the Finger Lakes for $73,710 to handle after-hours call intake so county staff can follow up the next day.
"The amount is $73,710," said Stacy, the Community Services representative. Stacy added that Goodwill "take[s] the call" and "handle[s] the crisis as much as they can," calling out mobile crisis when necessary, and that the Goodwill option is "much less expensive" than maintaining a county after-hours position. The committee approved the contract; one member was recorded as opposing the final vote.
