The Steuben County Finance Committee voted to authorize a $2,000,000 transfer from the landfill fund balance to the "sell 6 and 8" capital project to advance preliminary work and cover soft costs.
"Requesting authorization, to transfer $2,000,000 from landfill, fund balance to sell 6 and 8 capital project to get that rolling," said Rose, the Public Works representative, who explained the funds will help cash-flow engineering and other up-front expenses while bonding is finalized. Committee members clarified the transfer was intended to bridge immediate costs until bond proceeds are available. The motion was moved and seconded and the committee approved the transfer.
