Agency staff told the board that two drafted ordinances'regulations for tattooing and a general update to the department's fee schedule'cleared second reading earlier and are set to take effect Sept. 1. Staff said that registrations that must be renewed annually will follow the new effective date and one-off fees will also be updated starting that date.
The board discussed implementation timing and next steps in outreach to affected businesses. "We have effective dates now for our ordinances of September 1," staff reported during the meeting. Board members asked to ensure owners and registrants receive notice before the effective date.
