Health staff warn Valparaiso High School pool missed required bacteriological reporting; closure possible under state code

"It's it's weekly bacteriological testing. So the state code requires that, pools once a week pull, whether they're seasonal or year round pull, they have to pull a large sample once a week, and they have to have and if coliform or hetero or E. Coli is present or the hetero plate count is over 200, it's considered an unsatisfactory sample," one staff member explained. Board members discussed enforcement options, equal treatment of large and small schools, and the operational challenge of shutting down widely used school pools, while stressing that missed reporting counts as an unsatisfactory result and can trigger closure if repeated.
