Staff confirmed the original RV park approval included a sign easement recorded on the property; staff verified the easement language and the place‑of‑beginning survey description. Staff said the proposed sign would be non‑illuminated (or indirectly lit) and specified the sign dimensions as 12 feet by 7 feet, which fits within current size limits in the sign code. “It is a sign that is within the sizing that we have on our limits on our current sign code,” staff said during the discussion.
Because the sign sits in city right‑of‑way but within an existing recorded easement, the commission treated the item as a conditional use permit under the sign code. Commissioner S3 moved to approve the conditional use permit with the amendment that the sign must conform to the new sign code when adopted; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. Commissioners asked staff to secure an updated site plan showing sign orientation and any necessary setbacks before construction.
