County approves minor IAFF MOU tweaks on leave notice and coverage rules; no cost reported

Suzanne Boyle, county human-resources administrator, presented a memorandum of understanding amendment with the International Association of Fire Fighters that updates article 28 and 31. The amendments increase required notice for canceling approved annual leave from 24 to 48 hours and change the coverage-finding rule so only one employee (not both) moves to the bottom of the mandatory-coverage list; Boyle told commissioners the changes involve no cost to the county.
Commissioners described the change as a morale enhancement and approved the MOU amendment by unanimous voice vote.
