Crews switch services on Tilden; Bridge Street work slowed by legacy mains

Superintendent Steve told the commission that Tilden service tests have passed and roughly 14–15 services are connected; crews plan to place a base coat of pavement this week and a final finish in early September. "Tilden is passed all its tests. We're starting to... we've got probably, I think, 14 services, 15 services hooked up maybe as of today," he said.
Work on Bridge Street is progressing more slowly than planned after crews discovered a 4-inch galvanized main and a closely spaced 8-inch main that required careful crossing and additional excavation. Steve described widespread galvanized service loops and pinholes in older pipe runs that must be replaced with copper services off the new 12-inch main, adding complexity and time to the job.
