The presenter said more than $14,000 was awarded last year through a façade-grant program and that DDP-supported events drove roughly 68,400 event-driven visits across 16 events.
The presenter said the funds support a staff position that writes grants, secures sponsorships, organizes events and coordinates volunteers, and stressed the partnership's goal is to rely less on town funding over time by increasing private support. "We are not requesting any increase in funding. We're requesting the same investment that the town has made in in recent years," the presenter said.
Councilors heard the request and asked clarifying questions about how the funds are allocated; no formal vote on the funding request occurred at the meeting.
