Developer previews Culver’s restaurant proposal for Transit and William Streets

At the work-session portion of the Aug. 3 meeting, a Marathon Engineering representative described concept plans for a Culver’s restaurant on a 1.8‑acre parcel at Transit and William Streets. The presenter said the design would place a 4,300‑square‑foot building on the site, keep an existing driveway connection to the adjacent Rite Aid, reconstruct a stormwater pond to previously approved design, and reduce impervious cover in spots.
The presenter said the site plan includes 56 parking spaces and stacking for the order window; the county asked for a full traffic impact study and New York State DOT review is pending. Board members asked about access, curb cuts and whether additional state approvals (no-left-turn restrictions) would apply. “The county has come back to us with their—they want a full traffic impact study done,” the presenter said. Staff told the board they have reached out to both agencies for concept review and that a formal site‑plan review will follow.
Next steps: the presenter said he will provide floor plans, elevations and photos and continue to work with codes and planning staff; the project will be scheduled for planning-board review before formal approvals.
