Finance Director Emily Aldrich presented a high-level "red/green sheet" snapshot of city finances as of June 30, 2026. She said the city had received 97.7% of budgeted property taxes, franchise fees outperformed expectations, and utility revenues were on target.
Aldrich noted police and fire departments came in under budget (police at 93%), and that wastewater operations are functioning but the system has not seen major upgrades for decades and staff are pursuing grant funding for a significant overhaul. Council member Claire asked for future breakdowns to separate code enforcement from other general-fund items; Aldrich agreed she would provide more detail at the next quarterly update and include audited numbers when they are available in November.
