Twisp council backs regional narcotics task force RFP, Matsui to pursue board participation

The Twisp Town Council voted unanimously to approve a letter of support for the North Central Washington Narcotics Task Force (NCWNTF) opioid-settlement funds request for proposals.
Council Member Tim Matsui said he plans to reach out to inquire about joining the task force board and reported local overdose-rate research, telling council that "Twisp currently has a rate of 300 overdose deaths per 100,000 people." Matsui said he has contacted Family Health Center and Room One about resources and invited them to the April 22 council meeting to present available services.
Council Member Aaron Studen moved approval of the letter of support and Council Member Katrina Auburn seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Council did not adopt additional policy at this meeting but expressed support for regional coordination on opioid-response funding.
Staff and council indicated follow-up: Matsui will pursue board contact and staff will coordinate the April 22 presentations by health and service providers.
