NNWPC accepts six draft RWMP chapters for public review and revises schedule

Commission staff asked the Northern Nevada Water Planning Commission to accept draft revisions to chapters 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 of the 2026–2045 Regional Water Management Plan and post them for public review. Staff said the edits emphasize "key takeaways," reorganize certain sections for clarity, and update figures prior to posting.
Kim Rigdon told the commission staff had consolidated and clarified many sections and had reduced chapter introductions to bullet key takeaways to assist WRWC members and the public. She said remaining work includes finalizing figures (for example adding Mount Rose Water Treatment Plant to a systems figure) and that staff propose a modified schedule allowing additional review time through the holidays and a February public review period.
Commissioner Eddie Quaglieri moved to accept the presented chapters (individually or collectively), authorize staff to post them to the WRWC site for public review, and approve the updated schedule. Commissioner Daniel Henderson seconded; the motion carried by voice vote.
