NNWPC adopts resolution honoring John Flansberg as he retires

The Northern Nevada Water Planning Commission on Aug. 5 adopted a resolution of appreciation recognizing John Flansberg for more than 16 years of service to regional water planning.
The resolution, read by the chair, cited Flansberg’s work on the Truckee River Operating Agreement, effluent management and reuse planning, advanced purified water planning, regional flood mitigation and other initiatives. Casey Metzer, who identified himself during public comment as "treatment plant director of the Triquet Meadows... facility," told the commission, "I just wanna say that I have found, mister Flansberg, your, leadership and your, you know, contributions to be just inspiring." Trina Magoon of the City of Reno and former commissioner Dave Soleros also offered tributes.
John Flansberg thanked the commission and reflected on his service, saying, "I just wanna thank, everyone here. It's been a pleasure to serve on this board." Commissioner Eric Crump moved to adopt the resolution; Commissioner Mike Whitmer seconded, and the motion carried by voice vote.
The resolution notes Flansberg began serving on the commission on Oct. 1, 2009, and describes his contributions to regional water planning and institutional knowledge that staff and commissioners said will be missed. The commission did not take additional action beyond adopting the resolution.
