Castle Pines issues RFP for comprehensive plan update; city receives first private activity bond allocation

Donna Ferguson told the commission that the comprehensive plan update process will begin this year and that the city has issued a request for proposals; staff expect to receive proposals by the 29th and Ferguson asked for at least one commissioner volunteer to help select a consultant for the advisory committee.
Ferguson also said the city is receiving, for the first time, a private activity bond allocation from the state that can be used to issue tax‑exempt bonds for affordable housing projects. She said staff will brief city council in a study session and ask whether to delegate the allocation to the Douglas County housing partnership so regional allocations can be pooled for affordable housing projects.
Ferguson described the comp plan update as expected to last about a year and said staff plan to incorporate the three‑mile plan into the comprehensive plan process.
