Members of the Shoal Creek Valley Improvement Association presented a plaque to Blair Goodgame in thanks for her years of service as the group's auctioneer and as the county's tourism coordinator.
A representative said Goodgame "has served as the auctioneer for this fundraiser, and she does a fantastic job," noting the association's Christmas auction has raised almost $15,000 over the past three years. An EDC official who discussed the county's strategic plan said that after hiring a tourism coordinator the county's lodging tax revenue "doubled, and it's continued to increase since then," crediting the coordinator's outreach for improved countywide promotion. Goodgame accepted the plaque and invited attendees to the annual December auction.
The commission and audience applauded the presentation; staff and county officials offered brief remarks of appreciation.
