Commission approves local match and forms for 411 Corridor planning grant

"The the budget number that we have right now, is basically 5,000,000 for this," the engineer said. He told commissioners Moody's has agreed to contribute $250,000 toward the match (about 5%) and asked for approval to sign federal certification forms and other paperwork required for grant applications. Commissioners moved and approved the request and authorized the chairman to sign certification forms as needed.
The engineer and commissioners discussed larger cost estimates for full corridor planning and construction, which the transcript places in a range above $90 million to $120 million for the entire corridor. Staff said the county plans to break the project into phases and focus first on planning for an initial phase.
