At its May 26 meeting the Mount Carroll City Council approved hiring Emma Randecker as a part‑time seasonal staff member at the Davis Community Center. The motion to hire passed on a roll call vote with five yeses and one absence.
Davis Community Center Director Nacey Bandemer told the council the center had received two grants — one to support youth camps and another to fund condiments for a Mini Food Center — and thanked local donors and volunteers who had donated a bench, table and flowers. Bandemer also urged summer donations of dry goods to support the center’s meal programs and said hiring seasonal help would make it easier to staff upcoming camps and the track camp.
