The Mount Carroll City Council voted 6-0 to authorize purchase of a 2026 John Deere Z950M from Sloan Implement of Lanark, Illinois, for park maintenance. Alderman Paul Kaczmarski presented quotes and the Street Committee’s recommendation; the purchase was approved and the payment is scheduled for May and will be charged to the fiscal year 2026-2027 park budget.
Street Foreman Mark Traum thanked staff for gathering quotes and noted the delivery window: "delivery date of March or April and payment due in May." Traum also commended staff work: he said that Tyler Bausman "gathered the data and did a fine job." The council voted on the recommendation and recorded a 6-0 roll call in favor of the purchase.
