Council sets July 14 public hearing on sale/vacation of 306 North Davis Street

The council voted to set a public hearing on July 14 at 6 p.m. to consider vacating, selling and conveying city-owned property at 306 North Davis Street. Staff reported that Planning and Zoning recommended vacating the parcel and that an offer has been received; the hearing will allow the council to consider any objections and make a final determination.

As staff emphasized, setting the hearing is a procedural first step: any sale or conveyance would require additional action at a subsequent meeting after the public hearing. “We just have a situation... Essentially, we have a offer on that property, and the first step is to, determine whether or not the city is even going to vacate that property,” (staff member, speaker 8). Council approved the motion to set the hearing by roll call.
