Board approves intermunicipal grant‑writing agreement with Town of Warwick

The Greenwood Lake board voted to authorize the mayor to execute an intermunicipal agreement (IMA) with the Town of Warwick for grant-writing services that would let the village participate in the town’s contracted grant-writing firm.
Mayor Howley described the offer: the town is paying roughly $48,000 a year for a consultant and offered villages the option to join by paying a smaller share so they can piggyback on the service. He told trustees the firm would research grants, return recommended opportunities to village staff and prepare applications if authorized. “We give them the approval,” the mayor said when describing the workflow; the board moved, seconded and approved the intermunicipal agreement (Resolution 53).
If approved, the village would receive a presentation from the grant firm within about a week to explain the service and how village staff would provide requested statistical data for applications. Trustees said they broadly supported trying the program for a year.
