Mecklenburg commissioners celebrate George Dunlap's NACo presidency and back youth-focused resolution

Staff introduced and the board moved to adopt a resolution committing the county to the NACo —3Building Better Future— principles to improve outcomes for youth, including evaluation of current investments and adoption of at least one measure to strengthen supports for young people. The board approved the resolution unanimously.
Commissioners praised Dunlap's long public-service record. The manager and staff noted that hosting the national NACo conference in Charlotte in December would elevate the county's visibility for intergovernmental advocacy.
