The manager noted Dr. Scott's prior leadership roles in local public-health agencies, academia and nonprofit collaborations and said staff and community partners expressed support for the appointment.
The board's welcome remarks emphasized continuity and the department's role in addressing local health threats and prevention priorities. Dr. Scott said she intends to focus on strengthening partnerships, workforce development and community-led prevention initiatives.
