The Village of Greenwood Lake authorized the purchase and installation of a village-wide camera system, funded by a state tech grant, with total expenditures capped at $114,375.
Mayor Howley read Resolution 56, which the board moved and seconded and then approved by voice vote. Police Chief Adam described the equipment package and told trustees it will replace older cameras at municipal buildings, parks, the water department and select intersections; the chief also said the system will include license-plate-reader (LPR) capability. “It’s gonna cost about 114,300 and change,” Chief Adam said during his report.
Chief Adam said the village plans to contract with a reseller and installer (Gridless) for Verkada cameras that are on state contract, which the chief said simplifies procurement. Trustees discussed placement generally and the chief said exact locations were being finalized in public meeting but emphasized critical infrastructure would be prioritized.
The resolution specified the project would be funded with awarded tech-grant monies and set the not-to-exceed total; the board approved the measure by voice vote.
The mayor said the board will follow up with implementation details at future meetings and with public notices about where cameras are placed.
