Airport representative: Conway Airport runway project finished early, $118,000 under budget

An airport representative accepted an award on behalf of the Conway Horry County Airport on April 1, telling Horry County Council the runway and taxiway rehabilitation project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
"The project began in January 2024 and ended in May 2024, 45 days early and under budget by $118,000," the airport representative said, and credited Holt Consulting for engineering and Summers Concrete Contracting for construction. The presenter also said Ken Urbaneak of the airport development department served as project manager and that a plaque would be placed in the Conway Airport lobby.
Council members congratulated the airport during the presentation. The recognition was awarded by the Southeast Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives at their annual meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina.
