Residents press Cedarhurst leaders on roadwork, lighting, traffic signal and overnight water pressure

Jonathan Frisch of Atlantic Avenue said streets have been heavily impacted by recent work by water and gas companies. Mayor Benjamin Weinstock told the hearing that the utility work "is not related to the Pearsall Project," that the village has sought the improvements for residents, and that the work "is expected to be completed by the end of August."
Resident Susan Samson asked whether new village lighting is being implemented; Deputy Mayor Eric G. Brown said lighting upgrades "are being worked on and will be implemented soon." Sharon Segal requested a traffic signal at Rockaway Turnpike and Mott Ave; Mayor Weinstock explained traffic signals are under county control and said village leaders have contacted county officials. Resident Binyamin Sanders reported very low water pressure at his address between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.; Deputy Mayor Brown said he would contact the water company to address the issue.
