Trustees discussed retreat content, trainers and scheduling after presentations from a local consultant and the Idaho School Boards Association (ISBA). Jason Lloyd, ISBA board development manager, told the board the superintendent search package includes a reimbursable 3–4 hour team-building workshop that can be used to align expectations between the board and new superintendent.
"You already purchased a 3 to 4 hour, team building workshop with your new superintendent," Lloyd said. Trustees debated whether to start with ISBA's paid workshop and later add localized facilitation from Dr. Matt McDaniel or to combine providers in separate sessions. The board tentatively agreed to Monday, July 20 (8 a.m.–3 p.m.) for the retreat pending confirmation of availability from ISBA and key staff; trustees asked staff to confirm logistics and whether the session will be in-person or via Zoom.
