He explained that objective data would be necessary to design any chemical-feed mitigation or other engineering fixes and noted the human nose can detect odors well below regulatory thresholds; meeting remarks cited a state regulatory figure of about 10 parts per billion for hydrogen sulfide.
Board members emphasized coordination with the two other municipalities that jointly own the sewer plant and asked about likely funding sources. Rob said the monitoring cost would probably be covered from operations-and-maintenance funds if the board authorized it, and he committed to returning price quotes for further discussion. The board did not approve purchasing equipment at the meeting, and members requested follow-up with cost details and clearer agreement from partner municipalities before proceeding.
