The Brookings County Commission on June 16 approved Resolution #26-23 to change the Volga vote center for the July 28, 2026 Primary Runoff Election to First Reformed Church at 601 E. 1st Street because the Volga Community Center will be inaccessible due to construction on Samara Avenue.
Interim Finance Officer Jennifer Beller told the board absentee voting was underway and that "the vendor made an error on the ballot so new ballots will be printed and shipped this week." Beller said the cost to run the Primary Election was just under $40,000 and estimated the cost to run the Primary Runoff Election at roughly $24,000. The resolution cites SDCL 12-14-1 and passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
