Caldwell board welcomes Scott Montoya as interim superintendent

Montoya addressed the board and community, thanking them and saying he was eager to begin work in Caldwell. "I just am happy to be here tonight, and I've been excited to start in the Caldwell School District," he said, and introduced family members in the audience. Manning said the district would compensate Montoya for the extra time: "Yes. We are. So we're happy to have him, and he'll be working part time over the next month as he continues to transition into the superintendent role here in the Caldwell School District."
The board recognized the transition as part of broader staffing changes: the chair noted Dr. French completed the 230 contracted work days and that Montoya will serve under a stipend contract during the handoff period. Trustees welcomed Montoya and invited him and his family forward for photographs. The introduction came early in the regular agenda and set the stage for upcoming retreat and onboarding conversations.
