Winnsboro ISD board approves interim superintendent agreement after closed-session interview

President Brandon Green called the Winnsboro Independent School District Board of Trustees to order at 5:30 p.m. July 6 in the Winnsboro Memorial Intermediate Cafeteria and said the meeting notice had been posted under the Texas Open Meetings Act. "The meeting was duly called and notice of the meeting has been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551," the minutes state, attributing that notice to President Brandon Green.

The board moved into closed session at about 5:32 p.m. under Texas Government Code §551.074 to interview a candidate for superintendent and to discuss the superintendent's employment. The board returned to open session at 7:08 p.m., and the minutes record a motion listed as "Saucier, Robinson, Amason" to deliberate and possibly take action to hire an interim superintendent and to approve an Interim Superintendent of Schools Agreement.
