At the May 12 meeting, Street Foreman Mark Traum reported the sidewalk and street‑light work on Main Street is finished on the city's side and that the city is waiting for Herrell Electric to set a pole and connect wiring. The council also discussed upcoming downtown paint striping and continued concrete and gutter work.
Traum said the city removed backboards at Percy Park and that McGinnis Automotive and Diesel offered to sandblast and paint them for free. He also noted summer baseball and softball leagues have started and that crews will continue work on benches, concrete, and gutter projects. Alderman Amy Buss asked about painting stripes on Rapp Street to improve courthouse parking; Traum said he would measure and check supplies.
