Allen County commissioners voted unanimously on May 29 to approve an engagement letter with Baker Tilly Advisory Group for a property tax parcel analysis meant to provide tax-projection data to every taxing unit in the county.
Chief of Staff Chris Cloud explained the scope to the board: "this study will provide property tax projections for every taxing unit in Allen County, including towns, townships, and school districts." Commissioners Ronald W. Turpin and Therese M. Brown moved and seconded approval; the motion passed 3-0.
County officials said the analysis will help taxing districts plan for a shifting fiscal environment by generating projections at the parcel level. The board recorded the approval as part of its routine business and did not attach additional directions in the meeting minutes.
