The Reno Planning Commission voted to recommend that city council approve a zoning map amendment (LDC26-00090) to change a 16.78-acre parcel along North Virginia Street from Mixed Use Suburban to Mixed Employment. Nathan Gilbert, principal planner, told the commission that bringing zoning into conformance with the master plan is the purpose of this free application.
"We're just doing this to bring us into conformance," said Eric Casey, the applicant's representative, adding that the concurrent conditional-use review for future development would follow the same procedures. Staff noted the master plan designation for the site is Mixed Employment and that the ME zone conforms with the planned employment uses.
Commissioners had no substantial objections. The commission voted unanimously to recommend the ordinance to city council.
