The Planning and Zoning Board approved a mural installation on the north façade of the Community Redevelopment Agency building at 1121 Lucerne Avenue.
Rosie Escobar, community planner, presented the mural application (PZ project 26000009) and said the proposal is consistent with the comprehensive plan, community appearance criteria, and the mural land‑development regulations. The board discussed the project briefly and approved it with the staff‑recommended conditions.
The mural will be painted by Brazilian‑American muralist Fabio Onrack and is designed to increase visual interest along the Lucerne Avenue thoroughfare. Because the wall fronts a major street, the project required board review rather than a straight building permit and staff said the application met the standards for approval.
