The Hague Town Board approved two highway-department equipment purchases and authorized staff training attendance at regional conferences.
The board approved purchase of a Western MVP 9-foot plow for $10,626 and a sander for $12,828 after discussion of total costs and possible grant reimbursement for salt-reduction measures. A board member noted the town is applying for grant money that could reimburse a portion of the purchase next year; the highway crew also will attend training and trade conferences on salt management and stormwater prevention on October 1 and October 15.
The purchases were carried by board vote and staff were asked to pursue any available grant funding and to document estimated reimbursements. The board also discussed pairing the plow and sander components correctly and clarifying purchase totals during follow-up.
