Hague highway supervisor reports FEMA closeout and three potential local grants

The highway supervisor updated the board on winter safety, recent storm response, and several capital projects under development. He warned residents not to drive or attempt to pass town trucks while they are backing and described progress on applying for three grants that would support a highway garage roof/rainwater-catch system, a road rebuild for Wardboro Road, and septic-related work.
He said the town closed out a FEMA project that brought in more than $660,000, plus a state award related to the R Road Bridal project, and that one bridge box culvert remains under review after the DEC required hazardous-mitigation re-filing. "We closed out on our last FEMA project that brought in over $660,000," the supervisor reported.
Staff noted that two of the three grants are likely and that grant funds would focus on project execution (design and construction) but that additional town funding or match may be required. The board encouraged follow-through with planning and engineering steps to make the projects shovel-ready when funding is confirmed.
