The Hague Town Board voted to appoint Amanda Peterson as the town’s food pantry coordinator and authorized Supervisor Joshua Patchen to open a dedicated bank account for the pantry using the town tax ID.
Amanda Peterson — introduced earlier on the agenda — told the board the survey is meant to identify needs, including homebound and elderly residents who lack access to adequate nutrition. "The survey was just kind of like a preliminary step… I've had a lot of people approach me already saying they know of neighbors who are homebound, and elderly that don't have access to the proper nutrition," Peterson said.
The board also approved a plan to set aside funds for the pantry and to run an anonymous survey via Mailchimp and a paper drop box at the community center. The motion included naming Amanda Peterson and the town supervisor as authorized account holders; the board carried both motions.
