The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors voted to award the contract for bridge project LB7397 (Bridge K-23 on 180th Street between Lucas and Lenox Avenue) to Dixon Construction, the lowest bidder, for $974,948.95.
Laura Severs of the county's Secondary Roads department reported six bids for the project and identified Dixon Construction of Correctionville as the low bidder at $974,948.95. She confirmed paperwork and a bid bond were included. A board member moved to accept the bids and award the contract; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously 5-0.
Severs noted the lowest bid was approximately 15% lower than the county's estimate and recommended returning the bids to the county engineer for review as part of the award process.
